Bring an instrument, sing along, grab a pint and enjoy great music and good cheer on winter’s night. The core group features some of Vermont’s finest musicians including Avi Salloway (Billy Wylder/Bombino), Miriam Bernardo (High Summer), and Rob Morse (Hadestown/Vorcza). American roots, country-blues, bluegrass, cajun, gospel, global, you name it! Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, Taj Mahal, Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, Big Thief, and beyond. Now more than ever is a time to be in community, to sing, laugh, dance, and build a stronger fabric of our shared humanity. “We shall lift each other up!”
Salloway is a musician, activist, and educator and recently moved back to Vermont from Los Angeles. He grew up learning music directly from American folk legends, Pete and John Seeger, and from an early age, was exposed to the power of music to bring people together. Salloway is the bandleader for Billy Wylder, has co-written, produced, and recorded on 15 albums and performed over 1500 concerts across six continents. He also toured for many years in Bombino’s band, the Tuareg guitar hero from Niger. Highlight performances include Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. He has collaborated and performed with renowned artists including Jack Johnson, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tinariwen, David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), The Low Anthem, and Pete Seeger.
