About: Zenbarn
A Stage Artist's Seek Out
Founded in 2016 by Noah, Ari, and Marlena Fishman, Zenbarn was created to bring neighbors together. From Guptil Farm dairy barn, to Golden Horn East, to Tanglewoods Restaurant & Bar, this building has long served the community.
What began as a local experiment has grown into a respected stop on national touring routes
— a room artists intentionally seek out.
Known for high-quality sound, exceptional hospitality, and a crowd that genuinely listens and appreciates music, Zenbarn offers something increasingly rare: an intimate space where connection matters.
Our stage has welcomed legendary artists across generations and genres — from folk icons Peter Rowan and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, to members of Wu-Tang Clan, to reggae legends like Black Uhuru.
Members of Phish, Twiddle, and other iconic Vermont bands frequent the venue and sit in regularly, creating spontaneous moments that only happen in rooms built on musical trust and community.
Zenbarn carries that legacy forward — now as one of the most dynamic small live music venues in the country and a premier Vermont barn wedding destination.
The “Zen” in Zenbarn reflects our belief in music, mindfulness, and meaningful connection.
A Family of Vermont Businesses
The Fishmans are community-based entrepreneurs at heart with a group of interrelated Vermont businesses.
In addition to Zenbarn, the family operates:
- Vermont Patients Alliance — a vertically integrated cannabis company
- Zenbarn Farms — a retail dispensary in Waterbury
- Stowe’s Remarkable Things (formerly Stowe Craft Gallery), owned by Susan and Stephen Fishman in the heart of Stowe
Across all ventures, a common thread runs strong:
