Playing spin offs of Cabinet originals and extending funk blues and bluegrass Jams beyond belief. A trio powerful and playful just the same.

“We were just kids having fun, experimenting and making music with each other….. still are!”

Max Wareham & The National Bluegrass Team

Max Wareham (Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band) is a banjo player and songwriter from Boston, MA. He played banjo as a part of the Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band occasionally over the last ten years, leading to him formally joining the group and recording the Grammy-nominated album “Calling You From My Mountain” in 2022. After two years of touring nationally with Peter Rowan’s band, Wareham recorded his own album, Dagommit! (due out later this year). The album features Chris Eldridge on guitar (Punch Brothers, Mighty Poplar), Laura Orshaw on fiddle (Po’ Ramblin’ Boys), Chris Henry on mandolin (Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band), Mike Bub on bass (Loretta Lynn, Billy Strings, Del McCoury ), Larry Atamanuik on snare drum (Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss), with guest singer and producer, bluegrass legend Peter Rowan.

“For the album, I wanted to pull from some of the nooks and crannies of the tradition, using effects and arrangements that have largely been forgotten by today's bluegrass artists. I wanted to bring back to life some lost qualities of the music in a contemporary setting.” Recorded by multi-Grammy winning engineer Sean Sullivan (Molly Tuttle, Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Jerry Douglas), Wareham’s commitment to early innovators of the instrument shines on this forthcoming record of soulful original songs, highlighted by the hard-driving chemistry of Nashville’s preeminent bluegrass stars. He is currently touring with Max Wareham & the National Bluegrass Team, featuring French mandolin prodigy Jean Baptiste Cardineau, Sufi-poet-turned-guitar-flatpicker Ali Telmesani, and Boston bass stalwart Mike Siegel.
