🌟 About the Artists:

Kentucky-born fiddler Jason Carter, honored with a sign on U.S. 23’s Country Music Highway, has spent thirty years as the fiddle player for the Del McCoury Band, bluegrass’s most awarded group, and is a founding member of the Travelin’ McCourys. Along the way he’s won three Grammys and five IBMA “Fiddle Player of the Year” awards and recorded with artists from Steve Earle to Vince Gill. His forthcoming solo album, *Lowdown Hoedown*, finds him singing lead for the first time, backed by legends like Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush and newer stars like Sarah Jarosz and Billy Strings, on songs ranging from a lively duet with Dierks Bentley to the somber “Dust Bowl Dream.” Rooted in the jams and festivals of his Kentucky youth, the record reflects decades of road-tested musicianship and his enduring loyalty to bluegrass.
