Every Wednesday, Zenbarn turns into Vermont's living room for Grateful Dead heads. Wednesday Night Dead brings a rotating lineup of tribute acts through the barn from 7 to 10pm, each one putting its own spin on the Jerry Garcia songbook, so no two weeks sound quite the same even though the ritual stays the same: good jams, good beer, and a crowd that shows up like it's a standing weekly appointment.

The rotation keeps things fresh. One week it might be Dobbs' Dead leading a sold-out singalong; another week the Lara Cwass Band takes the stage and turns the barn into something closer to a dance floor. Regulars do not seem to mind who is up there as long as somebody is playing "Sugaree" by nine o'clock. A recent Dobbs' Dead show got hot enough that fans joked in the comments about someone needing to call the fire department, which is about as good a review as a Wednesday night band can get.

Stowe Cider and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery keep the taps running all night, so between sets there is always something cold in hand and something local in the glass. It is a low-key, no-pretense way to spend a midweek evening, which is exactly why it has become one of the most reliably packed nights on the Zenbarn calendar.
